April in Room 1

 Green Fingers!
Getting ready for planting.
We went outside and filled the window box with soil. We all put some in the box.

Back in the classroom.

We sowed half the flower seeds in the window box. We will watch them grow.
The flower seeds are Larkspur. They are white, pink, purple and blue. We hope they grow.

Herbs.

Mint and Lemon Verbena.

We went to the school garden and planted the herbs.
The mint has to stay in the pot or it will spread and overtake the garden.
The lemon verbena can be planted into the ground.

Remember the Larkspur?
We planted the other half of it into the garden.
Which one will grow best?

After the holidays we checked the window box - little Larkspurs are beginning to grow.

We take care of the little seedlings.

The Larkspur in the garden isn't growing very well.

Happy Easter!

Do you like our Easter Bunnies?

They are made from Easter Egg shapes.

This is how we made the Easter Bunnies.

 Houses and Homes

We made bungalows and two-storey houses.
Someone even made a three-storey house. Can you find it?

 We painted houses too.

Science

Teacher read the story "The Three Little Pigs"

We used sticks, straws and blocks to make houses but the Big Bad Wolf (teacher) came and blew away our houses. She couldn't blow down the houses made of blocks/bricks - just like in the story.
