Intercultural Day
We found out all about strawberries.
We learned how the farmer grows them, the beds, the plastic, the tunnels and that they have to be picked by hand because they are very soft.
Did you know that strawberries are the only fruit with seeds on the outside!
Look at the strawberry plant.
We looked at the other foods and where they come from.
Hey Diddle Diddle
The Book Fair
We went to the hall and looked at the books.
Teacher read the book.
We all drew a picture about the book.
Lael was the winner and she won a book.
Animals
We painted farm animals.
Our Scarecrow
John Kelly, the caretaker gave us the frame for the scarecrow. Grace, Alannah and David A brought in clothes and we dressed him.
We made his legs fat by putting re-cycled bottles into his trousers. We all got to put some in.
Now he needs a head.
We started with a flower pot.
A mop head.
Teacher got bottle tops and a funny tube for the mouth.
We put on a woolly hat and he looks very good.
We called him Jack.
We took Jack out to the garden and John Kelly helped us to stick him into the ground. John also nailed him to some wood so he wouldn't fall over.
We left Jack in the garden to scare away the birds.
Good Luck, Jack!
Craft Day
Craft day was on the 13th June.
Every class had to make something.
We made snakes.
Teacher had egg cartons, wool and plastic needles. We threaded all the pieces together and stuck on a red tongue.
Look at us work!
The following week we painted them.
They look great.
